Author Information Description Everything in the UK is fast becoming a matter of who you know not what you know. The people with the most contacts and connections get the best jobs – doesn’t matter how well qualified they are or how hard they swotted whilst at university. This means that the ‘little’ people (about 95% of the higher education population, I would estimate) often have to get really high grades to even have a chance of finding good jobs. Secondly, there is the issue of class sizes and snobbish lecturers who not only are reluctant to give students the time of day but also, pile on tons and tons of coursework not to mention exams and in doing so, cruelly expect students to have it all ready within a matter of weeks if not days. No doubt all this coursework is not helped by the fact that students, these days, have to take on part time jobs to supplement their paltry grants and we all know who we have to thank for that - New Labour. All this, as I’m sure you would agree makes for an extremely hard life for students and as a result, we feel that it is our duty to help out where we can hence the reason why we have taken it upon ourselves to write this book. We would also state that despite the hardship that students face, we (the LSJ) still feel that they need to do their own work when they can as there’s no better joy than learning. However, we also appreciate that at times, students need a helping hand and then, but only then, would we advocate that they employ the use of this revealing booklet. In short, only use it if you feel you absolutely have to and if you do, I can assure you that all the tricks, shortcuts, secrets, methods, etc. that will help you get consistent A grades as well as get through life easily will be found in the book.
